We are here at the Team Flower conference really trying to take in as much as possible on options to expand Fetes de Fleurs in the coming year ahead. I had some great conversations with my lovely MOMMA on the way down from Charleston, SC to Ponte Vedra, FL to drop off my puppy Poppy for the rest of the week while I am down here. I actually said it for the first time,

"Mom, I want to do Fetes de Fleurs full time at some point."

I started Fetes de Fleurs in March 2017 (1 year ago) when I moved from Boston, MA to Charleston, SC.

This business budded from a breakup and a change that came unexpectedly in my life. Fetes budded from a sad place that I was in. I don't know if you have ever had heartbreak or a death or something that you thought you would never get through but that is how this happened and why Fetes de Fleurs exists. I try to be thankful for all the things that happen in life as I know there is a larger meaning and purpose for everything we go through. So I guess taking that hurt and pain and knowing it turned into something magical and beautiful makes it better for me. 

I guess what they say really is true- from something bad or sad will come good, if you want it to.

I had gotten out of a 6 1/2 year relationship/partnership and I needed to get out of Boston where all the memories were and do something new to help me thrive again.

I am so thankful for this flower business that started as just a little seed of an idea in Boston and budded into something more than just me now. 

I took a leap of faith and have never looked back.

I spent that heartbreak doing something good to take my mind off of it. I took that heartbreak and fell in love with flowers. I fell in love with myself again over the past year due to this love for flowers.

I will be forever, forever, thankful for the way life seems to work in the most mysterious and magical ways.

Just when you think you are broken, you come back in the most wonderful, unique, and beautiful way.

Very similar to how flowers are born.

We specialize in flower crown parties. Yes, flower crown parties. I know, I know, that is so specific! How does that work? You have to be thinking that! BUT guess what!?!?! It works!

I have proven the model over the past year and we decided to expand in Charleston as well as other cities over this past year.

This next year is the year of Growth for Fetes. I have goals and I want to share them with you. I truly believe that if you don't open up about things going on in your life or things you want in life then they won't happen. I believe in throwing things out to the universe and that allows good things to come back to you.

We started by providing flower crown parties for bachelorette parties coming to Charleston, SC where I am based out of and have built this business over the past year. Over the past year we have perfected the model and have added employees in Charleston as we have grown. We needed hosts for more flower crown bachelorette parties each weekend so we expanded as necessary in Charleston as well as in other known bachelorette party destinations.

PRO TIP: expand as you need to and as the demand comes. Don't overdo it at first. Grow as you need to grow. Not as you want to grow...

Now is our busy time. Any hot, or warm months is our busiest times because that is whne bride tribes want to flee south to party. So in the south from now through spring and summer are hot times for bachelorette parties in Charleston.

After perfecting the Charleston market for bachelorette parties we started to think about expansion in other cities where bachelorette party destinations are. So we started Austin, Texas, and New Orleans, LA, and Boston, MA.

Everyone who knows me (family, my boss, my co-workers, my friends) they all know that I am super entrepreneurial. My brain just goes, goes, goes and is always going, doesn't stop- so that means I don't stop. I want to step it up this year. My company that I work for, HubSpot and my boss (my amazing boss) knows that I want to do this full time at some point and honestly I can't ask for more support of my side hustle from my company, HubSpot.

I work full time selling software and have worked for HubSpot for the past almost 8 years now. TIME FLIES :) So I sell software, work full time doing that and then at nights and weekends I work on Fetes. I could do a whole heck of a lot more if I did Fetes full time and that is the goal. BUT I will not jump the gun until I am ready and fully prepared. Also it is very hard to decide when to leave your full time job that you also love and have done for so long. But, I wouldn't want it any other way. 

WHY DO I DO FETES DE FLEURS?

I want to empower and enable women who feel that entrepreneurial urge to have a side hustle or their own business by creating and partying with flowers.

GOAL:

To have Fetes in all the major cities across the US where the markets make sense.

WHEN:

This year is the year of Growth. I want to open in more markets and support the markets we already have. 

What I do know is why I am doing this. I do know my goals. I do know how to make you money while being creative with flowers!!! What is better than that?!?!
